Accidents frequently occur at railway and cycle crossings when bikes or pedestrians get caught in the rail grooves. VeloGleis tackles the problem at its root: a specially developed rubber profile fills the rail groove and prevents bicycle tyres from getting jammed.
Due to its special surface texture, the profile minimises the risk of slipping in wet conditions and enables pedestrians to cross the tracks step-free. When a train passes over it, the profile is depressed by the weight, subsequently returns to its original shape thanks to its elastic properties, and fills the flangeway again.
The system can be retrofitted to existing rails and, thanks to its design, is easy to clean or replace.
