Elastic systems

System

Less vibration, less noise

The reduction of vibration, noise and stray current is one of the key challenges in track construction. Vibration and stray current can damage surrounding infrastructure, and the resulting noise is particularly disruptive for local residents. Increasingly stringent requirements for the systems demand innovative solutions.

We develop and manufacture bespoke elastic mounting systems, specifically tailored to the requirements of each project. They separate the track from the surrounding superstructure and significantly reduce the vibrations caused by tram traffic. Furthermore, the insulation minimises stray current leakage, which extends the service life of the entire infrastructure.

In cooperation with our partner companies SEALABLE and ORTEC, we offer custom-designed systems tailored to local conditions and customer requirements.

System RCS® (Rail Comfort System)

in cooperation with SEALABLE

The SEALABLE RCS® offers an innovative solution for resilient rail fastening in urban infrastructure. Developed to master the challenges of modern rail transport, the RCS® significantly reduces shocks and vibrations caused by trams and protects surrounding structures from structure-borne noise.

Features and benefits:

  • Effective vibration damping: The RCS® minimises vibrations and structure-borne noise, resulting in an improved quality of life for local residents and less damage to buildings.
  • Reduction of stray current: High-quality insulation materials reduce stray current leakage to a minimum, which significantly lowers the risk of corrosion for metallic structures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: The system is suitable for various rail profiles and surfaces, including asphalt, paved, concrete and grass track.
  • Quick and easy assembly: Thanks to the modular design and the possibility of pre-assembly, the system can be installed quickly and independently of weather conditions, which significantly reduces blockade durations.
  • Longevity and ease of maintenance: The RCS® is characterised by a long service life and low maintenance requirements. A simple rail replacement is possible without complex construction work.

DELTA-Lager System

in cooperation with the company ORTEC

Thanks to its advanced design, the DELTA-Lager® system offers versatile application options and is an optimal solution for the damping of shocks and vibrations in rail transport.

The elastomer profiles and brackets are designed so that a vertical deflection of up to 10 mm can be achieved, while the horizontal head displacement remains below 2 mm. That ensures a stable and reliable mounting of the rails and fulfils all necessary criteria such as longitudinal rail restraint and electrical insulation.

Versatile applications:

  • Local and long-distance transport: The system can be designed for all local and long-distance transport loads.
  • Retrofitting capability: The individual components are compatible with the W-fastenings common in Germany and are therefore suitable for the retrofitting of sleeper tracks.
  • Slab track and timber sleepers: When using steel base plates, the system can also be used on wooden sleepers or on slab track.

Benefits at a glance:

  • Stray current insulation in accordance with EN 50122-2
  • reduction of rail head wear, longer rail life
  • Easy assembly
  • Maintenance-free
  • Long service life
  • Simple rail replacement
  • potential application as open construction
  • 100 per cent recyclability of all materials

System VIBREX®

in cooperation with the company ORTEC

The highly elastic VIBREX® rail fastening system, as a further development of the tried and tested ORTEC whisper rail (Flüsterschiene®), is the latest innovation in the field of rail damping systems. The system enables continuous, highly elastic support and is available as both a Vignole and a grooved rail.

Features and benefits:

  • Stray current insulation according to EN 50122-2: meets the highest security standards.
  • Materials resistant to grit and de-icing salt: suitable for a wide range of environmental conditions.
  • Anti-wear effect: The high elasticity reduces rail wear.
  • Flexible applications: suitable for both open and closed construction methods.
  • Simple maintenance: A rail replacement can be carried out quickly during track closure intervals.
  • Simpler repair work: In the event of a rail fracture, only the area surrounding a maximum of two brackets and enclosures needs to be opened up.
  • Customisable groove widths: available individually to customer specifications with a groove width of 36 to 60.5 mm.
  • 100 per cent recyclability all materials.

Kölner Ei® System

in cooperation with the company ORTEC

The Cologne Egg is a solution for noise reduction and vibration damping. It ensures that trains glide over the tracks more quietly, without burdening the surrounding area with noise and vibrations.

How does the system work?

The Cologne egg consists of a special construction with metal parts connected by heavy-duty rubber elements. This construction is firmly installed between the railway tracks and the substrate. The rubber connections absorb the vibrations from passing trains and simultaneously dampen the noise. As a result, the transmission of disturbing sounds and vibrations to the surrounding area is minimized.

Advantages of the system:

  • Effective shock and vibration damping
  • Protection against age-related track widening
  • Stray current insulation in accordance with EN 50122-2
  • Flexible rail fastening options
  • Adjustable track stiffness for ballasted and non-ballasted lines
  • Suitable for axle loads up to 16 tonnes
  • Resistant to grit and de-icing salt
  • Longevity through high-quality material selection
  • 100 per cent recyclability of all materials
