A wooden sleeper is rarely completely done for. Usually, only the bearing surface under the rib plate is worn out, while the rest of the sleeper is still load-bearing. This is precisely where our sleeper reconditioning comes in: we completely refurbish used sleepers and prepare new sleepers ready for installation.
We can supply sleepers pre-assembled and ready for installation upon request, and we assemble track panels for all common sleeper types at our Gelsenkirchen-Scholven location.
Before ordering a sleeper replacement, it is worth taking a look at the wood: with InsideFume®, wooden sleepers that are still sufficiently strong can be treated directly in the track, guaranteeing a further eight years of service life at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
